Event Digest-Bixby Knolls

Brighter Future had an awesome time exploring all the weird art and science at the summer science and art fair this last weekend at Bixby Knolls.  Our group saw some incredible art and exhibits with one animator at the fair doing a stop animation LEGO movie.  We were thrilled to have two new students join us for this event and had our first ever workshop with our new clinical head Julia.  Be sure to join us for our next event, film at the beach, to meet our new students and enjoy Disney’s family friendly film UP

Event Digest: Jackalope Summer Night Fair

Brighter Future had an  amazing time joining the Jackalope arts fair again this summer for their first ever evening event.  Our students enjoyed the chance to showcase some of their incredible art and we had a few returning customers who sought out our artists by name.  We cannot thank the community in Pasadena for all the love and support they have shown our students in the last year!  Our wonderful evening summer event ended with a surprise gift of shaved ice for all of our students at the event during our award ceremony generously provide by our founder Mila.

Event Digest: Beach Movie Nights – Cars 3

Brighter Future finished our wonderful summer movie series with our dear friend Peggy from the Dockwieler Youth Center.  We could not be more appreciative of the fun we had in the setting sun before enjoying a wonderful crowd and free popcorn!  You can bet we will be back next year and can’t wait to see the beach again for our Winter Wonderland event.  Again we would offer our extreme thanks and gratitude to Peggy for making our summer simply amazing!

 

 

Event Digest: Beach Movie Night – Incredibles

Brighter Future Charity had an amazing time down at the Dockwieler Youth Center last weekend watching the Disney movie The Incredibles on the beach.  We were thrilled to get to see our dear friend Peggy was there again and we had our set up with an amazing two spaces for both showcasing our favorite art and demonstrating our student run workshops.  Peggy continues to be one of our groups favorite people as she got Ray a birthday gift to celebrate his last spin around the sun.  If you missed us this last week don’t worry, we are heading back this Friday for another incredible time at the beach!

Event Digest: Beach Movie Night- Coco

Brighter Future Charity had an amazing time down at the Dockwieler Youth Center last weekend watching the Disney movie Coco on the beach.  Our dear friend Peggy was there and set up our students with an amazing two spaces for both showcasing our favorite art and demonstrating our student run workshops.  We were so thankful to Peggy we got her a necklace  from one of our artists, Ray, and are heading back this Friday for another incredible time at the beach!  We would like to give a big ‘thank you’ to our founder Mila.  A handful of our students forgot how chilly the beach can get at night and Mila raced home for extra sweaters and blankets in time for the movie so our students didn’t have to miss a moment ^_^ Thank you!

Event Digest: Long Beach Pirate Festival

Event Digest: Torrance Antique Show

Brighter Future had an amazing time joining Torrance for their summer annual Antique Fair this last Sunday.  Our students could not get enough of all the cool old collectables and items displayed at the fair.  Our exploration groups set a record for the longest time ever spent out exploring and interacting with other vendors at an event simply because they were having so much fun!  In addition we had new art from our amazing artist on display and sale.  From one artist trying her hand at making some incredible Minnie Mouse ears, to one another adding her paintings for the first time to our space; we saw and wonderful increase in the amount of art our students brought to this event.  Be sure to join us for our next event few events for movies on the beach with the Dockweiler Youth Center and our amazing friend from the LA Dept. of Beaches, Peggy.  Find more details on what film we will be seeing which weekends and to register for the event on our website www.brighterfuturecharity.org  Can’t wait to see you all this July for our another incredible Brighter Future event!

Event Digest: Rock & Roll Flea Market

Brighter Future Charity had a blast, rockin and rollin around the Regent Theater in downtown LA for the Rock and Roll Flea Market.  Our students had a chance to see a ton of cool old vinyl records along with some classic rock and roll attire while they explored the market.  We heard an amazing story about one of our students and how he found an original Beatles band poster in the cover of an old ‘Sargent Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band’ album (so cool)!  We are further proud to report that all our students who participated sold some of there items at the market and we had a great time enjoying the fruits of our labor by indulging in some fun treats from the downstairs pizzeria.  Join us for our next event the Antique Market and Art Fair in Torrance, June 24th.  See you soon and keep on rockin!

Event Digest: Pico Block Party

Brighter Future had an amazing time joining the 18th Street Art Center for their bi-annual Pico Block Party!  From an incredible mix of music and performance to all the amazing art, our students always love their time with the 18th Street Art Center.  A special thank you to Betty for having us back and giving us space to support our families!  Additionally, we had a huge win with our newest student near selling out of her headbands and engaging socially with lots of the party goers.  Our rock painting continues to be a blast and we are event inspired by what our artist create.  Join us at our next event the Rock and Roll Flea Market on June 3rd hosted by the Regent Theater.

Event Digest: Agape Children’s Museum @Michelle Obama Library

Brighter Future had an amazing time joining the Agape Children’s Museum for a day of art and fun!  Our students spent the day teaching different workshops centered around crafts such as painting, jewelry making, and even LEGOS!  We had a great time exploring the Michelle Obama Library and are looking to possibly host our next mastermind event at this wonderful space.  Additionally, we are proud to announce two new members to our Brighter Future Family.  Come join us May 19 at the Pico Block Party in Santa Monica!
