Event Digest: Summer Camp @ Dockweiler Youth Center

Brighter Future Charity would like to recognize the Dockwieler Youth Center for the support and access they have provided to our students to the beautiful beach.  We are ever thankful for the incredible staff and space the Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors has been able to create.  Our students look forward every year to the amazing events hosted by the youth center and request over and over again for more!  Our group loves the beach and all the fun we find there so much, that we will be back every Friday for more fun in the sun.

Event Digest: Pico Block Party

Brighter Future Charity was once again very impressed by our good friends down at the 18th Street Arts Center for their annual Pico Block Party. Our students were treated to a variety of arts, crafts, music, and of course dance. We were especially thankful for the opportunity to make our own vegetable print towels and sock puppets. Also, we can’t say thank you enough for the complimentary frozen treats our students received thanks to the ever generous 18th Street Art Center. Be sure to check out our next event this coming weekend, and see you soon!

Event Digest: Santa Monica Farmer’s Market

Brighter Future Charity had an amazing time joining the Santa Monica Farmers Market for another day of fresh food and fun.  Our group was ever impressed with the hard work and incredible skill of all the culinary experts and farmers alike at the market.  We were so very proud of our student Remi and volunteering to help facilitate our rock painting workshop!  Be sure to join our group for our next event, the Pico Block Party.

Workshop Digest: Earth Day 2019

Brighter Future Charity at the Earth Day Festival launched our amazing new workshop and summer camp series.  The workshop, in which our group constructed an earth friendly castle, was an important new tool for our group building social skill and problem-solving skills; as well as, a great source of stimulation for mind and a boost to creativity. Participants worked as a team to design and build a castle from recycled boxes.  We were so inspired because our new workshop was such a powerful catalyst for positive socialization and cooperation with others.  Our students and staff alike can’t wait for our next workshop at our next event!

Event Digest:Earth Day Festival

Brighter Future Charity had an amazing time at Dockweiler Youth Center for their annual Earth Day festival!

Thank you, to our dear friend Peggy for continuing to invite us to be a part of this great event.

We were blessed with so many opportunities to explore, connect, communicate, exercise, and learn about Earth Day; all while having fun!

It was amazing to see how different ages, abilities, and cultures connected and were so kind and supportive towards each other. Everyone truly benefited from being a part of such a kind community.

Our students and guest enjoyed playing non-competitive basketball, baseball, and football, and of course cheering for their friends and others. Some of our favorite activities from this year’s Earth Day event were the rock climbing, dancing, and jumping castles, and slides.

All had many artistic opportunities like rock painting, jewelry making, crafts, face painting and more with the Brighter Future Group.

Some of our students were selling their creations and teaching others their craft.

Everyone had fun learning, sharing, connecting, and growing their skills.

Event Digest: Winter Wonderland 2018

Brighter Future Charity had an incredible end of our 2018 event calendar with our dear friend Peggy down at the Dockweiler Youth Center for the annual Winter Wonderland.  Our group was truly spectacular this year as we had one of our own students host a painting workshop in which she guided participants to paint images of birthday cake for in celebration of one of our other student’s birthdays!  Our group enjoyed all the slides, snowball fighting, and activities this years event had to offer.  We also announced our plans to setup a booth every 3rd Sunday with the Santa Monica Farmers Market. Be sure to check the website for more details and happy holidays from everyone at Brighter Future ^_^.
